Final Favourites      Ratings Auk/Ang. Clynelish:              1/3    Mild honey scent; gentle shallow taste, spirity and bitey, slightly sour yet complex, pleasant. Short aftertaste. Glenlivet:              5/2    Gentle spirit nose, not sweet. Pleasant slight medicinal flavour, quite rich, sweet.  Short aftertaste. Highland Park:      4/4    Mild and mellow, slightly metallic nose; taste initial strong bite, almost herbal.  Clean. Laphroaig:             2/1    Good peaty liquorice sweet nose; stays up in the nose. Earthy, strong, full, rich,smokey, complex yet light on the palate; smokey aftertaste lingers well. Consistent throughout. Macallan:              3/5    Sweet, deep, rich port-like nose, “varnishy” undertones.  Rich, thick and very smooth taste reminiscent of soaked fruit, raisins.  Not complex, strong fortified wine influence.  Port aftertaste lingers. Not previously tasted Longrow:               n/r     Fiery, sweet, strong, sharpish.   Gsood long aftertaste.
